Meet The Shooter:
Jon "Duffy" Dufresne

Jon served with 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, deploying multiple times in various capacities. The Ranger Battalion also provided Jon with training and first hand experience in small unit tactics, airborne operations, field medicine, breaching, foreign languages and small arms.

​Upon leaving the Army, Jon worked in executive protection and acted as a law enforcement consultant, molding his military experience into a contextual view of the threats faced outside of combat environments. Jon comes to the firearms industry with an ideal blend of military and citizen; shaping his courses to apply to Mil, LE and citizen students alike.

The K9 13.95 features a mid-length gas system with an optimized gas port to run reliably suppressed and/or unsuppressed. The K9 continuous taper is the most effective profile to dissipate heat from hard use. With weight shifted to the back of the barrel, modern attachments on the front of the rifle create a perfectly balanced and better handling rifle. Updated target crown carried over from the Purebred series. Features no 90 degree cuts, improved harmonics, fit and finish.

The Cobalt Kinetics/ VLTOR A5-CK buffer system is a joint collaboration between both visionary brands in hopes of evolving the current A5 system to an even smoother recoil mitigation system. The raised “anti-tilt” feature on the A5 buffer came into reality from a specific request that we made. Our engineering team noticed that even though carrier tilt is mainly an issue that plagues gas piston systems, carrier/ buffer cavitation is still commonplace in gas impingement systems.
